Forest School Inset October 2011

Staff enjoyed having a great time in a stimulating environment this Inset. We spent the day in the woodland at Ashington School learning some basic woodland crafts and trying our hands at a range of Forest Schools activities. We thought about how we could adapt or use some of these and other activities with children across the age range.

Working together in teams we collected natural objects to create water tight shelters which were tested out later in the day. Some of us got a little wet but were rewarded with bananas and chocolate cooked on the campfire.
