Grandparents Day 2011

Grandparents of children at Lyndhurst were invited to come into the school and spend some time with their Grandchildren.

Grandparents were taken on a tour of the school by their Grandchildren and were able to see their work and hear about what happens in school.

Here are some of the comments that were made by Grandparents:

  • A lovely school, everybody seems to be very happy here
  • Enjoyed it very much – should do it more often
  • My grandchild was very proud showing me around
  • As a wheel chair user it is a delight to find the school wheelchair accessible. Also I find all of the staff (including the caretaker and cleaners) very helpful. A lovely school with happy children.
  • Enjoyable time. Thanks that we as grandparents can share this with our precious grandchildren
  • A very worthwhile initiative
  • Some nice books available in the library. We were very pleased.
  • Organised fun and education
  • Very much appreciated the chance to see the school and impressed with the atmosphere and positive development opportunities for the children
  • We like this idea of bringing in grandparents to understand more fully the child’s life – thank you!
  • All the children really enjoyed showing their grandparents around – they are obviously very happy here, which is lovely to see and gives them a good start to their education. Well done!
  • I welcomed the opportunity to discuss the approach to disability taken by the school when talking to the head. Thank you.
